“In the outdoor sculptures commissioned by Hall Financial, I have tried to create works that give physical substance to the grace and power of the wind. Geometric elements of aluminum and stainless steel are carefully designed to maximize their response to the slightest breeze and yet withstand severe weather. The interaction of these elements with wind and sunlight creates a visual counterpoint that is aesthetically satisfying on a very basic human level," - Edward Lee Hendricks

About the Artist:

Edward Lee Hendricks was born in Charleston, West Virginia, in 1952. He holds a B.F.A. from Birmingham-Southern College and an M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina.

He received the National Endowment for the Arts/Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art Artists Fellowship in 1982.

Mr. Hendricks' sculptures have been presented in one person exhibitions at Robert McClain & Company, Houston, Texas, in 2000; Eve Mannes Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, in 1994; Louis K. Meisel Gallery, New York, New York in 1993; Brendon Walter Gallery, Los Angeles, California in 1990, and de Andino Fine Arts, Washington, D. C., in 1990.

He is represented by Robert McClain Gallery in Houston, Texas.
