About the Artist:
Sherry Owens lives and works in Dallas, Texas. She is a multi-faceted artist encompassing disciplines as diverse as weaving, painting and welding. Her favorite materials for sculpture are carved crepe myrtle branches or welded steel.
Ms. Owens been in many invitational exhibitions throughout Texas and U.S.including “Earthly Delights” at the Parchman Stremmel Galleries in San Antonio, TX; “unearthed” at the Haggar Gallery, University of Dallas in Irving, TX; and “This Seed of Space” at Women & Their Work in Austin, TX. She received the 1999 Moss/Chumley North Texas Artist Award and was the former president of the Texas Sculpture Association. The list of exhibitions and publications featuring her work is extensive.
